GLASS HANDLING CORE SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGIESQComp takes great care in ensuring the safety of our cells for our customers' working with this technology. As part of our system process, a Risk Assessment is performed and all aspects of the safety standards are checked. Keeping up with the latest RIA (Robotics Industry Association), ISO (International Standards Organization) and ANSI (American National Standard Institute) requires knowledgeable people in this area. QComp has dedicated people to stay aware of these standards.
Robotic cells require certain set back distances from fencing, operator access and protection when within reach of the robot. The material handling entrance and exit points need to be protected. The strength of the guarding itself must meet the standards. Depending upon unique requirements, QComp utilizes various guarding methods including hard fencing, polycarbonate materials, sensor arrays, pressure mats, etc. to provide the best operator safety.
Each cell is typically comprised of several of these safety features.
