Assist in the proposal preparation, cost estimates, of drive and control systems for converting, paper industry, web handling and metal strip processing by performing the following duties. Work as part of the team supporting the project engineer, manufacturing, field services and sales personnel .

Position Summary

Automation system integrator in Appleton, WI has an opening for an Application Engineer.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals involvoing drive and control systems.
• Review customer specifications and engineering documents to ensure the proposal meets requirement.
• Specification and sizing of motors, transformer, and other electrical equipment.
• Ensure that design meets UL508A, NEC and NFPA standards.
• Ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements
• Support project engineer when commissioning related to parts and other matters to commission the system
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
• Support sales engineers throughout the sales process.
• Support marketing efforts in identifying markets and opportunities.
• Effectively communicate with all parties in the project cycle internal and external to company
• Assist in specification of major purchased items.
• Familiar with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access.

Prerequisites

• BS degree with experience.
• Experience with drive and controls systems is a must.
• Experience with various product families or GE, AB or Siemens PLC's.
• Experience with various HMI's AB Panelview, RSView, Intellution or other operator interface software.
• Some travel is required (<5 %).
